It is the story of a young woman, Sofia Malagoli, who transformed a deep desire into her life mission: to remain in her own land and, at the same time, feel part of the world.

A dream that today lives through the eyes and emotions of the international guests who cross the doors of the vinegar factory every day.

The essence of a Modenese dream

Acetaia Malagoli Daniele is Sofia's soul. A dream that grew with her, cultivated with passion, determination and a clear vision: to enhance the gastronomic heritage of Modena, bringing it to the hearts of people, wherever they are.

Sofia has always wanted to be a young Italian rooted in her country, but with an open gaze to the world. An international vocation born in her childhood, lived within the welcoming walls of her mother's family hotel, where hospitality and meeting were daily bread.

Even though fate initially seemed to push her elsewhere—towards a career as a civil engineer—Sofia chose to follow her calling, proving that one can live off one’s passions, with courage and dedication.

The beginning of an adventure

It all officially began in 2015, when Sofia participated in a tender by the Municipality of Modena for the opening of a temporary store in the historic center.

An overwhelming experience, especially since at the time he did not yet have his own company: he submitted the application in the name of his mother, Barbara, owner of the farm from which the grapes destined for Traditional Balsamic Vinegar came.


The victory was the first concrete step towards a future yet to be written. Telling her parents the news was a moment full of emotion: her father Daniele, who had always been convinced that his daughter would become an engineer, initially underestimated the project. But he soon had to change his mind.

Sofia's determination was stronger than any expectation, and her dream was beginning to come true.
